This is my first swap so I went in kind of blind via Discord so I didn't explore the past events etc. I sent my receiver one of my few remaining 74min discs crammed with 1hr and 14min of music from just a few of the genres that I enjoy. I hope they do too.

I didn't know that the track list would be shared here so I had some fun with including it in the package as a sealed (with wax and everything) page containing the track list and some of my thoughts about each track as well. The recipient has the option to look at the list before or after listening.

With that in mind I'd rather leave the track list a mystery for now. (I did not choose to include a joke track. They're all good in my opinion.)

In November of 1992 I was into my first fall of not attending school having graduated college a few months before. I was working the off season at the theme park that I worked at each summer through college and learning a ton while broadening my musical tastes.

The package went to the post office today (9/28) and is already on the tracking system and I'm babysitting its journey.

Wow. USPS says it could be delivered today(9/30)!! Good luck little disc!

[UPDATE] Woohoo! Out for delivery!

UPDATE: Okay, the recipient has had this disc for several days. I'm going to post the wax sealed playlist.

Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi, O Fortuna - Carl Orff - Carmina Burana

There are a lot of great intro/opening songs but the opening of Carmina Burana is arguably the greatest ever. I believe my first experience with this song came while I was working at Sea World back in 1990 and this music was used to open the Shamu show. It gives me chills to this day remembering how, when all the stars aligned and everything timed out perfectly, the killer whale would break the surface of the water with a huge jump and splash right when the music reached its crescendo. I eventually went to see this whole opera performed live with orchestra and choir. Just spectacular.

Legacy (Edit) - The Art Of Noise - Beauty Of The Incidental 2

Quintessential Art of Noise song. This may be about as far out as the variety goes. Maybe.

Having An Average Weekend - Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet - Savvy Show Stoppers

Used as the title music for the Canadian comedy show “The Kids in the Hall”. If you’re not familiar, find it. They’ve come back from beyond with new episodes on Amazon Prime.

Don't Give Up - Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - So

Slow it down for this one.

Never Going Back Again - Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

Had a day where I was down in the dumps. Listened to this a few times to remind myself that it’ll get better.

You Got Lucky - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Long After Dark

When I sing this one in the car I need to change the whole phrasing around to “I got lucky” because I really got lucky when she found me.

The Sinister Minister - Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - Bela Fleck & The Flecktones

Funky banjo and bass. Enjoy!

Go Insane - Lindsey Buckingham - Go Insane

Discovered this song while I was looking for another and then just a few days after I added this to my collection I stumbled across the song being used in an episode of Miami Vice where Crocket had to win a game of pool to gain entry into a power boat race to catch some drug runners.

La Grange - ZZ Top - Greatest Hits

Play this one and go drive someplace. Just don’t blame me when you get pulled over for speeding because that’ll likely happen.

Song For George - Eric Johnson - Ah Via Musicom

A mellow, lesser known song from a killer album.

Road To Nowhere - Talking Heads - Sand In the Vaseline

Another driver. Just please have an idea where you are going.

Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen - Greatest Hits I II & III

Queen speaking to my interests!

Drivin' My Life Away - Eddie Rabbit - All Time Greatest Hits

Enjoy this jaunty little driving tune.

Exodus From The Underground Fortress - Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Akira Original Soundtrack

Probably my favorite track from the Akira motion picture soundtrack. Caution causes heavy accelerator foot when played in a car.

Sam - Meat Puppets - Forbidden Places

Just TRY to keep up with this one.

Where's My Thing?, Pt. 4: Gangster Of Boats Trilogy - Rush - Roll The Bones

So many words in a title for a Rush song with NO words in it. Good driver. Used one summer at the Sea World water ski show.

Answers - Steve Vai - Passion And Warfare

This guy knows his way around guitar strings.

It's My Life - Talk Talk - Natural History:Very Best Of..

This was my anthem when it came out. I only recently learned of the passing of the group’s front man.

Rough Boy - ZZ Top - Greatest Hits

It’s ZZ Top, but all kinda chill.

Do It Again - Steely Dan - The Definitive Collection

Easy to sing along to. Enjoy!
