No microphone input

Recording level change and character input while recording

Quick mode (!) according to Sonystyle Canada.

Non-LCD remote (RM-MC21)

"Quick mode" (shorter battery life: turns off the LCD, but leaves unit "on" for up to an hour with no user input -- unit will respond almost immediately when a track is played or cued within that hour).

Line-level output can be enabled on the headphone jack (along with other features) through an [[http://www.sharoma.com/minidisc/hacking.htm|EEPROM hack]].
