MiniDisc 30th Anniversary

The first MiniDisc devices, the Sony MZ-1 and the Sony MZ-2P, were released on November 1st 1992 in Japan. That means that November 1st 2022 is the 30th anniversary of the MiniDisc format.

We have a page dedicated to planning our event(s) and building community engagement. Most WIP plans will be listed there.

Event planning

As events, giveaways, and releases are announced and confirmed, you will see them listed here. We may add sub-pages for particularly big events, such as our mix swap and photo contests.

As we bring on record labels releasing albums on the day, we'll add them here. Once a list of albums is announced, they'll be listed here as well.

We are hosting two disc swap events this year, one in time for the 30th Anniversary with a 1992 theme, and our annual Secret Santa exchange.
