Sony's first netMD bookshelf system. It was launched alongside the MZ-N1, LAM-Z1, and MDS-NT1 as the first generation of netMD devices. HCD-C7NT is stamped on the main body causing many mislabeled used listings.

Supports copying from CD → MD at 2x speed. Playback can be controlled over USB via NetMD or PC-Link. Recording from the CD drive and optical port are digital, recordings from the Tuner or RCA in is analog.

Supports optional TC-TX21 cassette deck

Supports RM-D20P remote commander

This deck works with Web Minidisc Pro (Version #5a9cf53 built on Fri Oct 28 21:35:54 UTC 2022).

Likely to be supported by the latest version of Platinum-MD, there have been no firsthand accounts to confirm this, however.
