This unit is an MD, CD, Tape and FM/AM Tuner device stack. Each section is split into a separate component, with the tuner/CD/amp being HCD-SD1, tape deck being TC-SD1 and MD being MDS-SD1.

The MD component (MDS-SD1) uses the same CXD2654R IC as the MDS-JE520.

The MD+Amp combo was sold in Japan as the JMD-7.

Each unit can be operated as an individual, however some features may be unavailable.

The MDS-SD1 (unconfirmed JMD-7) has a Walkman MD Link port, allowing a portable MD player to be attached with the bundled cable via the remote port to automatically copy MDs and their metadata.

MD Mechanism Type: MDM-5A
