Supports MDclip and full-width titles. The MDClip software v1.0 allows you to view MDClip art on discs. Sony made V2.0 to allow users to create and upload their own custom MDClip art to discs, but it was only offered by mail to those who filled in their registration card within a small time frame.

Coming equipped with an i.LINK (Firewire 400) connector, this device was intended to allow high-speed music download and editing by connecting to a Vaio computer.

Also worked in combination with the digital CS Tuner DST-MS9, where you could download songs from Sky Perfect TV.

Remote part# RM-D32M

geton.smoj.sony.co.jp - has a note about “ The attached software at the time of release is a version that does not support MDclip editing.”

No manuals found.

Holding “Level -” (Minus) when you plug the unit into power will allow access to the service menu.

Firmware version can be checked by using Forward until you get to the entry “MDS-DL1”. (This is important as it gets upgraded by MD Clip Edit 2.0, and at present there's no way to go backward, but might be of interest for future mods.)
