Control

Aiwa Co., Ltd. has introduced the new AM-F7 portable mini disc (MD) recorder that is making digital recording easier and more portable than ever. The model features a backlit LCD remote control, a large, easy-to-use jog dial, stereo microphone, and the “Ear Fitphone,” a new perfect fit inner ear headphone that offers improved bass reproduction and less sound leakage.

The LCD remote control unit makes it simple to operate the AM-F7 with one hand, and its backlit display is easily legible under any light conditions. What's more, a large jog dial on the main unit simplifies title input and disc operation. And the AM-F7, measuring just 21.6mm thick and weighing only 189g, is easy to take anywhere you want great digital sound.

The AM-F7 is ideal for business use as well as music recording, with features like synchro recording from both digital and analog connections, a sampling rate converter, and a stereo microphone. Its energy-saving design allows up to seven hours of continous playback (with the included rechargeable battery). Long-time monaural recording mode and high speed playback are especially useful for recording meetings and lectures.

Main Features

  • Backlit LCD remote control unit
  • The LCD display on the remote control unit makes it easy to monitor MD operation and is easy to read even in the dark.
  • Great operability thanks to large jog dial
  • Turn the large Jog Dial on the main unit to input and memorize kana or alphanumeric characters for disc titles and song names up to 50 characters long. The dial also makes it easy to skip tracks or adjust the recording level.
  • Synchro recording function allows either digital or analog connections.
  • MD recording automatically starts or stops in synchro with the connected machine.
  • Sampling rate converter allows recording of BS/CS digital broadcasts and DAT.
  • It automatically converts 32kHz/48kHz sampling radio frequencies to 44.1kHz. This function allows high-quality digital recording from outside equipment such as BS/CS digital tuners and DAT or CD players.
  • One-point stereo microphone, lomg-time recording mode, and high-speed playback function simplify recording and playing back business meetings, lectures, and other events.
  • The one-point digital microphone allows instant digital recording. The long-time recording mode allows continuous monaural recording of up to 148 minutes on a 74-minute disc. The high-speed playback function does not change the pitch of the sound, making it much faster – half of the actual recording time – to review recorded material.
  • Thin, lightweight design: Approx. 97 W x 21.6 H x 77.6 D (mm), and weight only 189g (main unit)
  • Energy saving design: Included rechargeable battery allows up to seven hours of continuous playback.
  • Time mark function
  • This function automatically marks a recording every five minutes, so it's easy to scan a recording of a long meeting to find important passages.
  • Silver body

The AM-F7's editing functions – combine, divide, move, and erase – utilize the unique characteristics of the MD.

  • Aiwa's unique Dynamic Super Linear Bass (DSL)
  • Date function can record and display the year, month, and date of a recording
  • 25-track program play/ repeat (programmable for one track or all tracks)/random playback
  • Resume function can start playback where it stopped.
  • 3-stage battery condition indicator is displayed on main unit and LCD remote control unit.
  • Auto level control ensures the correct recording level every time, and manual level control precisely sets a desired recording level.
